ABOUT ME

My name is Ced Nocon, but you can call me Cano, for short. It’s the first letters of my first, middle, and last name. It’s also the name I use in video games and when signing illustrations and designs.

CANODESTRO is the business name of my creative foundry based in Southern California, USA.

I have over 20 years of professional experience as a Graphic Novelist and Graphic Designer working for Marvel, DC Comics, Image Comics, Recoil and Offgrid magazines, advertising agencies, and local businesses. My specialty is creating visceral, ultra-detailed illustrations that capture the imagination and attention of the audience.

Throughout my life, I’ve had an affinity for all things related to science fiction, dark fantasy, and horror genres. I love cyberpunk subjects as much as gothic vampires. Dragons, though, not so much. From advanced robots and menacing mechas to grotesque Lovecraftian elder gods and scary monsters that go bump in the night, I find all manners of non-ordinary characters, beings, and creatures absolutely thrilling to behold and fascinating to draw!

When I am not drawing or writing story concepts for future projects, I am watching anime, reading manga, and playing video games. Pop culture has found a crucial and beloved place in my life.

A few words about AI

For those new to my Blog, please know that I support Artificial Intelligence and machine learning technology, and the potential uses of such advanced applications in creative production work. This includes exploring and implementing AI technology in writing, photography, 3D and visual effects, game development, illustration, graphic design, and graphic novels.

As such, visitors to my Blog may encounter images produced using AI-generative imaging software. Additionally, I may share web links, discussions, and screen captures of AI contextual chat applications. I will state if an image is AI generated, and what software was used to make it.

I understand that this isn’t for everyone. But, at the same time, I ask that you kindly respect my stance on this issue. I hope we can all stay civilized about this topic.

Anyway, I just want to get this quick discussion out of the way.
